A loan of $525 helped to buy new merchandise like underwear, blouses, shirts, and skirts, etc. to stock her business.

Dilcia Ibeth's story

Dilcia, age 34, is married and has one child. She lives in a neighborhood in the Lopez Arellano section of Choloma, Cortes.

Dilcia sells merchandise. She started her business seven months ago, and the business is set up on the outskirts of the industrial parks. She sells underwear, blouses, skirts, and knickknacks.

She started her business by her own means. Then, she had the opportunity to apply to ODEF for a loan. They have helped a great deal, and she is motivated to continue working.

She currently has had three requested loans. She will use this one for 10,000 lempiras to buy new merchandise like underwear, blouses, shirts, and skirts, etc. With this investment she plans to take advantage of the workers’ year-end bonuses and sell a variety of merchandise. She will do this so that her sales will favorably increase.

Her dream for the future is to have her own stable location. She also dreams of being well-stocked with merchandise that she still does not have.
