Zaur's story

Zaur is a 29-year-old man, an internally displaced person (IDP) who lives in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement with his wife and three children. He is a farmer and has raised seasonal fruit and vegetables for the last 10 years. He chose this business because it is profitable and fresh crops are in high demand. People use fresh vegetables everyday and consider them healthy. Many national dishes are made of vegetable, like pilau and dolma. Fresh fruit is served at every table in Azerbaijan families and is also used to make fresh punch.

Zaur sells his crop in the Bilasuvar central bazaar. His monthly income is 100 AZN. His father actively helps him to raise crops.

As these products are in high demand, Zaur wants to expand his business and produce more fruit and vegetables to cover market demand. For this purpose he applied for a loan of 1000 AZN. He will buy new garden tools, seeds and fertilizer. This will be his second loan and he has a positive client history.
