Taghrid is a 31-year-old married woman and the mother of one child. A year ago, she opened a lingerie store to assist her husband, a carpenter, with their household expenses.

She applied for a loan from Kiva’s partner, Al Majmoua, to increase the stock and variety of her products. In particular, she will use the money to buy lingerie, baby clothing and accessories.

Diversifying her retail will help Taghrid move further towards her career goal of expanding her shop and boosting her income. The lack of capital has been her major obstacle, but with this first loan from Al Majmoua she is more optimistic about her business.
