A loan of $575 helped to build more rooms to rent.

Alicia's story

Alicia, 54, is a woman who very much wants to make progress; she’s cheerful and sociable too. Her spouse is Ramiro who is a master builder and the father of their two children. She lives with her daughter and two grandchildren in her own house that she built on a lot she bought years ago.

She rents rooms; she has ten that she built in the back of her house. He charges 100 new soles for each one. She started over five years ago with capital of her own and gradually her business grew. This time has served for her to become well-known which makes it possible for her to have regular income to support her family and pay for her grandchildren’s schooling.

This is her second MFP loan and she’s grateful to know that she will continue to have financial support to advance her business. She, therefore, commits to be responsible with her payments like she’s been so far.

She will use the requested 1500 new soles to buy building materials and supplies (rebar, tubes, nails and others) and will pay labor costs to build more rooms and be able to have more tenants.
