A loan helped to buy beer, corn, chairs and sales supplies.

Teodora's story

Teodora is 28 years old and lives with her common-law husband. She has two children in her care. The family live in their own home, in a district of more than 10,000 inhabitants. Teodora has been selling 'chicha de jora' (a corn-based drink) and beer from her home for more than three years.

She is requesting a loan to invest in her business. In particular, she will buy beer and corn. She will also buy chairs and sales supplies so that she can make more income with which to support her family and, consequently, enjoy better living conditions. Teodora is a longstanding client and, from the day she started working with the entity, her life has changed as she is better known, her sales have improved and she makes more income.

One of Teodora's main aims is to attract more customers and for her sales to be at 100%. In order to achieve all this, she works hard and responsibly from morning til night. The market is right for an investment in this type of business as it is mainly local residents, specifically housewives, who sell 'chicha'. They do so in shifts and this is good because it means that they don't have to compete. It is a good market niche for making more income.
