A loan of $3,200 helped a member to make tamales to fill some orders.

Las Reynas Group's story

Las Reynas is a community bank of six women who are on their fifth loan cycle with the institution. They have stood out as being a very good and united group, overcoming all the difficulties that they have faced during the time that they have been together.

Yuri is one of the members of this group. She is 30 years old and married. Her husband is a builder and whenever she has had any difficulties getting enough money together to make her repayments, he has supported her so that she doesn't have any problems. Yuri and her husband have three children who are 10, 7 and 2 years old. Their two older children attend elementary school whilst their youngest will start Kindergarten next year.

Two years ago, Yuri decided to start selling tamales in order to support her husband with their household expenses. She sells her delicious tamales to order, to friends and neighbors. She requested this loan to buy the ingredients she needed to make tamales in order to fill some orders that she had. She hopes to continue selling tamales and, some day, to have a small stall in one of the local markets.

In this group: Anita, Maria Azucena, Mercedes Deyanira, Olga Leticia, San Juanita, Yuri
