A loan of $650 helped to buy blouses, sweaters and jeans in greater quantities.

Orietta's story

Orietta is 47 years old. She sells merchandise such as underwear and outerwear. She started this business after seperating from her husband because she needed to generate income to support her children and for their wellbeing. She started with few products and a little capital, but her hardwork and discipline quickly had results. These are now seen in her business relationships. She has regular customers and suppliers who trust her. With her business, she has improved her income and now her goal is to be bale to have a well stocked and well placed store. Her biggest challenge is having enough capital to meet her customers' demands and in the future having a well stocked store that impacts her market. Right now she is applying for a Kiva loan, the first loan she has taken out with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it she will buy blouses, sweaters, and jeans in greater quantities, because in the market there is a wide variety of these products with discounts and she can only take advantage of that if she has enough money in her hands.
