A loan of $1,000 helped to buy merchandise for her coffee shop.

Ana Lidia's story

Ana is 39 years old. She is marrried and has three daughters. She has a coffee shop in a community school center. She is a hardworking and responsible person who has been able to get her family ahead with a lot of hard work. Her husband manages the shop and over many years with this work thay have been able to educate their daughters. Their oldest is finishing college.

Ana and her husband buy their materials in the closest town, which is 6 kilometers from their house. Access to the area is very bad because the buses only go by every two hours and when there is a hard rainy season sometimes they don't go by at all. Then she has to pay for an express delivery service and it is more expensive to transport her merchandise from the town to her house.

The loan she is asking for is to buy merchandise for her coffee shop and thus meet the demand she has from the students from the education center when they have breaks. She feels that she is unable to stock everything they want.

The need that will be satisfied is that she will be able to buy more merchandise and meet the demand that she has in the coffee shop from the students more easily.

Her life will improve gradually, since if she stocks her business more her sales will increase and thus she will have more income and obtain a wider profit margin with her sales.

In the future, she wants to have a better sticked coffeeshop and also be able to open a small store in her house so that the people who don't have access to the educational center can also buy her products without having to go into the school. She also wants her daughters to be educated so they can be well known and respected people in their community.
