A loan of $750 helped to buy two cows.

Edwin Yovany's story

Edwin, 28, is married and has two children. He has worked in farming since he was a child, and it was his father who taught him the trade. For 15 years Edwin has been in business, and he lives with his wife and two children, who help him at work.

He begins his daily activities at 4:30 a.m. when he milks the cows. Then he takes them out to pasture three kilometers from his home. Later he and the family work on the 21,000 square meters of land until noon. Then they continue the workday until 5:00 p.m., when they go home to rest.

In order to buy farm supplies he walks four kilometers to the bus stop and takes a bus to where he shops. Then he carries the supplies home.

The loan he is requesting through Fundación Campo is to buy two cows. His goal is to increase milk production as well as his income so he can buy construction materials to build a house. The one he lives in is made of sheet metal. He wants to increase his livestock and produce more milk to be able to support his family.
