Paz Y Alegria Group's story

The communal bank Peace and Happines is from the city of Coronel Oviedo, it is comprised of 17 hardworking and humble women who earn their living everyday. They are independent in their respective jobs but work together to help each other.

Bernardina is the president of the group and says that she always tries to motivate her fellow members to go after their goals and dreams so that they won’t give up. She sells chipa (a type of bread made with yucca starch and cheese) and does very well since it is eaten all the time, rain or shine.

Bernardina needs the loan to buy chipas, since she wants to continue her sales because thanks to them she has been able to help her family and meet their day to day expenses.
