A loan of $475 helped buy cows.

Jader Jose's story

Mr. Jader is 33 years old and is a humble farmer from the city of Teustepe. He works sowing corn, beans and wheat. Mr. Jader is married and is a father to 4 children who are under his care and at present, only two of his children attend a primary school in the area. He started his job from a very young age by helping his parents but over 13 years ago he decided to work on his own. Besides sowing basic grains, he also sells milk that he gets from his cows, which he has been buying with his crop earnings. He has to pay for labor since he does not have the support of anyone and his products are sold in the area to avoid transportation expenses. He wants to keep his milk business as well which is why Mr. Jader needs the loan to buy animals (cows) to have another source of income. He plans to pay his debt with the profits from his milk production and to keep buying more animals (cows). This year, his next goal is to have his corn, bean and wheat harvests so that he can keep securing his family’s daily bread and get ahead in life.
