A loan of $850 helped a member To buy more piglets for her pig-raising business.

Sroeun's Group's story

A citizen from a rural village of the Prey Chhor district of Kampong Cham province, Sroeun is a 44-year-old mother of four children -- one daughter and three sons. Sroeun and her husband are hardworking farmers. The main sources of the family’s income are rice farming, vegetable planting and pig raising. They have been in this business for 19 years, earning a daily income of around 24,000KHR.

This is the second loan for Sroeun’s group of three members with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Having completely paid back her first loan, she is leading her group to apply for another loan with VisionFund. As the leader, she wants to use her portion to buy more piglets for her pig-raising business. She hopes to grow her business and earn a larger income to make her living conditions better.
