A loan of $475 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Chhun's Group's story

Residing in a rural village of the Dambae district of Kampong Cham province, Chhun is a 37-year-old mother of four dependent children -- one daughter and three sons. Three of them are still in school. She and her husband earn a living as farmers, farming rice and planting cassava. She has been in this business for almost 20 years, earning about 20,800KHR per day to spend for daily expenses. Chhun is in her third loan cycle with VisionFund, while her fellow group member is just with VisionFund this loan cycle. The past loans from VisionFund have helped better support her family and enabled her to send her children to school. Now leading her group of two to apply for a loan, Chhun will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on labor. With this loan, she hopes to make more income from her current business and also hopes to make a better living and keep her children in school.
