A loan of $750 helped a member to buy more grocery items to sell.

Sros' Group's story

Sros is 32 years old and married. She lives with her two dependent children, who are still in school, in a rural village of the Prey Chhor district, Cambodia. She is a grocery seller who has been in this business for six years. She sells seasoning, soap, candy, cake, etc. With her current business, she is able to earn a daily income of 15,000KHR to support her family and she manages to save around 6,000KHR each day.

This is the first loan for Sros’ group of three members with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Sros, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy more grocery items for her store and also to buy zinc for her house building. With this loan, she hopes to grow her business and earn more income so as to keep her children in school and build more savings for the future.
