Tania Fernanda's story

Tania is a member of the communal bank 'Sector 3'. She lives in the 'Medio Ejido' sector in the city of Cuenca. This city has a cold climate and is the third most important city economically in the country. Since 1999 it has been recognized as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The people from this area are friendly, gentle, and continue to practice the traditions of their culture.

Tania is 19 years old, single and lives with her parents who make a living raising chickens. They do not own their own home, which is why they rent the home they live in.

This community bank member is studying in the university, majoring in journalism. She is currently in her first year and is already practicing her profession, working as a news reporter for a well known radio station in the city.

This is the first loan she has taken out in the communal bank, to which she was invited to join by her mother. She will use the money from the loan to pay for her photography and radio classes.

Her goal is to travel to Chile to become a professional photographer.
