A loan of $875 helped to buy a styling chair, mirrors, and beauty products.

Elizabeth Ignacia's story

Elizabeth, age 31, continues enjoying everything having to do with beauty. That is why she started giving her family and friends manicures. She did this four years ago, and she has taken various courses. She learned new manicure techniques, hair care, cutting, and styling. She now has an appropriate environment in her home, where she works providing better service to her customers.

This is the second loan that Elizabeth has requested. With the first one she fixed up the place for her beauty salon, bought a styling chair, a dryer, and a flat iron. With these tools she provides services like coloring, straightening, cutting, and care for hands and feet. At the moment she is running the business alone, but she hopes to hire a helper in the future.

She lives in the Guasmo sector south of Guayaquil. She has been well-received in her neighborhood. She enjoys her work, and if they call her requesting her services at home, she does that with no problem.

She usually is open Monday through Saturday from nine in the morning until six in the evening. However, she extends her schedule when needed. Her husband is a security guard, and she has three children who go to the local school.

Elizabeth will use the loan she is requesting to buy another styling chair, mirrors, and beauty products to use and to sell. She would like to use the increase in her income to buy a car, to expand her salon, and to hire a helper.
