A loan of $2,775 helped a member to buy supplies for her restaurant business.

Unidas Para Alcanzar El Exito Group's story

Ana owns the ANTICUCHERIA NAOMI restaurant. (Anticuchos are a traditional Peruvian meat-based dish.) She started the business a year ago and named it for her daughter. She had already trained as a chef and used some money that she had to start the business. She adds that much of what she needed to know to prepare anticuchos, she learned from her mother. Ana operates the business on a busy street and says that she is happy with the revenue that's coming in from the business. Thanks to the business, she has been able to help her husband--a taxi driver--with the family's expenses and save for a house. Ana is the secretary of the UNIDAS PARA ALCANZAR EL EXITO community bank. She will use the loan to buy the supplies she needs--condiments and cooking oil--to run the business. The investment will allow her to continue working and meet her goal of moving the restaurant to a permanent space.
