A loan of $1,525 helped to purchase a freezer and three cows, in order to sell their meat.

Rocio's story

Rocío is 41 years old. She is a cheerful woman, who is eager to better herself. She is single and doesn't have any children. She lives with her sister and brother-in-law.

Her business is buying and selling different cuts of beef, such as steaks, ground beef, and others. She purchases the meat from the local slaughterhouse and from cattle ranchers, and sells it at a market stall in her town, with the assistance of another girl who helps at the counter. She started out over 25 years ago with her own capital, purchasing small quantities which increased gradually in response to demand. She considers her business to be quite profitable because of the income it brings in. It has been well received and has become very well known in the market.

This is her fifth loan with MFP, and she counts on the institution to realize her plans. She promises to pay her installments, and she feels very good about her communal bank, because they are a sociable and supportive group of people.

She will use the amount requested, 4000 nuevos soles, to invest in the purchase of a freezer, which is valued at 1200 nuevos soles. She will also purchase three cows, in order to sell their meat, which are valued at 900 nuevos soles each.
