A loan of $1,225 helped to buy more medicine for resale.

Robert's story

Robert is 38 years old and lives in the town of Kachwamba in the Fort portal region of Uganda. He is married and has four children who are all currently in school. For the past two years, Robert has been working hard to manage his pharmacy, which sells medicine.

To help expand his business, Robert has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more medicine for resale, and will help Robert to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. Robert hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his business into a whole sale shop.

Robert is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Robert who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
