Suyun's story

Suyun is 53 years old and married with four children. Suyun works at the statistics commission and also farms and raises livestock to supplement her income. She started her business in 2007 with 14,000 Kyrgyz soms (KGS) or approximately $296 USD. Thanks to her persistent efforts, Suyun now has five cows, five horses and 1.2 hectares of land where she grows perennial grasses to feed her herd. To further develop her business, Suyun applied to Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 50,000 KGS ($1075) to purchase young cattle. Suyun plans to invest the profits from her loan into the further development of her business.
