Odinakhon's story

Odinakhon is 46 years old. She is a widow with three children and lives with her youngest son. Odinakhon works as a nurse in an outpatient clinic for drug addicts in the city of Osh. Her son makes gravestones. To supplement her income, 10 years ago Odinakhon started a livestock and small farming business with a start-up sum of 15,000 Kyrgyz soms (KGS) or approximately $317 USD. Thanks to her persistent efforts, Odinakhon was able to build a home for her family. To further develop her business, Odinakhon applied to Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 135,000 KGS ($2875 USD) to purchase four calves for breeding and milking. Odinakhon plans to invest the loan in the future development of her business.
