Sovan's story

Sovan, age 53, is a farmer. He has been involved in growing agricultural crops for more than ten years, earning approximately $8 per day. He resides with his wife in Battambang Province, Cambodia. His wife helps him run the business.

In order to improve his family’s finances, Sovan is requesting a loan in the amount of $1,000 to purchase piglets to breed, fatten, and eventually offer for sale. By entering into this venture, he will earn an additional line of income to support the family.

In the future, he would like to expand his business and to rebuild the house in which they live in order to make it more comfortable for the family.
