A loan of $1,625 helped to buy pigs.

Lidia Eulalia's story

Lidia is a 38-year-old woman who lives with her husband and four children in Rio Verde, a parish in Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo is the fourth most populated city in Ecuador and is located in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Province in the mountainous part of the coast. In the city there is abundant commercial traffic and the livestock market is the largest in the country. The city is also known for its biodiversity, scenery, and the Tsáchilas indigenous community.

Lidia works long hours every day of the week raising pigs. Unfortunately, disease has affected some of her animals and her business income is not enough to take care of the whole family. For that reason, Lidia is requesting a loan from Kiva so she can increase her number of pigs and prevent them from being affected by the disease. This way, she will be able to generate greater income for her family, provide her children with education, and have a more decent life.
