A loan of $575 helped to paint the walls of her premises and to buy drinks and candies to sell.

Elva's story

Elva is 59 years old. She is a hard-working and tenacious woman who is very helpful and kind. Her partner is Ladislao, who is a salesman and the father of her children. The couple live with two of their grandchildren, their daughter and son-in-law. Elva lives in a house that she managed to buy with the support of her partner.

Elva's business is renting out pool tables and selling candies and drinks. She set up her business in a space in her home. She started her business more than two years ago. She already had pool tables which were brought in from another town where she used to live. She has her husband's help in dealing with her customers. She considers her business to be fairly profitable because it makes her good profits. She also likes it because she doesn't get bored. In the future, she has plans to expand her business and set up premises for selling food.

This is Elva's second loan through MFP and she is happy to know that she has financial support so that she can continue in her business. She pledges to make her repayments on time as she did with her previous loan.

Elva plans to invest the 1,500 soles she has requested in fixing up her premises. She will paint the walls and buy more drinks and candies to sell.
