A loan of $1,175 helped to buy two dozen "Hitarget pagnes" and one batch of damask fabric.

Mamouna's story

Mamouna is married and mother to two children. The eldest of the children is five years old and the youngest two. One goes to school. Mamouna has four dependents.

She has been selling various types of "pagnes" (brightly coloured decorative pieces of fabric) for the past five years. She gets her supplies at the Sector 10 market in town and in Mali. Her customers are women.

Mamouna wants to buy two dozen "Hitarget pagnes" and one batch of damask fabric. She is saving her profits so that she can buy a permanent workshop and reinvest in her business. Her ambition is to expand the shed where she sells her goods and improve her family's living conditions.
