A loan of $375 helped to pay for a lifting of the mourn ceremony.

Manuel's story

He's married and has four children, two of which still attend school. He lives with his family in a house he owns and also supports two nephews who live with him. He works as a teacher and a staffer of the Ministry of Education. With the current loan he intends to organize a traditional ceremony where his sister-in-law's mourning will be lifted. He also intends to pay for transportation for some family members coming from the province of Tete, northern Mozambique. In the future he plans to finish his higher education in order to increase his salary and provide more comfort for his family. For that reason he pledges ti repay the loan as scheduled, so he can request more loans from Hluvuku. His challenge is how difficult it is to buy school supplies due to the high prices of these purchases.
