A loan of $3,000 helped to purchase apricot trees.

Shuhrat's story

Seven years ago Shukhrat started working as a merchant. He started his business with the hope of earning income to take care of his family. He sells dried apricots and processes apricots from an orchard for later sale. He runs the business by himself, although his wife helps him process the apricots. Each year he buys apricot trees and rents 1.5–1.8 hectares of orchard space from the cities of Kairakkum and Kandbadam. Shukhrat also sells dried apricots; he buys them at the market in Kanibadam and sells them in Isfar. Shukhrat is married and has one son. He has received loans through IMON International for several years, and has a good reputation and an excellent credit history. This provides him with some additional income. Shukhrat would like to obtain a loan in the amount of 3000 dollars to acquire an orchard's worth of apricot trees to grow and process apricots.
