Mrs. Tiến operates a food stall/restaurant selling nem chua (fermetter/cured pork). Tiến has been involved in this business for more than 10 years. Tiến is 50 years old and she is married with two children. She lives with one dependent child in Thanh Hoa city, a urban town in Thanh Hoa province, the other one of her children is grown up.

She is requesting a loan to purchase materials to make pork pies and fermented pork rolls to sell. She is the leader of a four-member group, the 05 Chợ Điện Biên solidarity group. In 2009, Tiến joined Thanh Hoa Fund for Poor Women to improve her business. Tiến has successfully repaid four loans from Thanh Hoa Fund for Poor Women.

The main harship that Tiến faces in her business is the lack of capital. With her business profit, Tiến hopes to build a new house, for her business to do well, and for her family to be healthy and happy.
