A loan of $625 helped to buy metal and tools.

Jhonny Alberto's story

Jhonny’s a young man living in Barranquilla’s El Valle neighborhood. He builds structural items out of various metals like aluminum, iron and zinc which combined with glass or acrylic are used in offices, homes and industries. He learned this art in the place where he did his military service. When he returned to civilian life he wanted to have an income generating alternative in order to live and this is how he decided to set up his business with a little capital.

He’s asking for his first Kiva loan with the entity in order to buy different kinds of metal used in production as well as some tools to perfect his finishing touches to offer products to order to his customers.

Jhonny currently has many customers who hire him to make the items and one of his greatest challenges since he started the business has been getting capital for the raw materials and to finance the large projects and orders he gets.

He wants to use the loan to strengthen himself to make his business grow turning it into a great firm with which he can meet all the demand and with which he can earn greater profits that will allow him to finish his university studies. Jhonny very much wants to continue forward and believes that he still has time to reach his dreams and this is why he’s started to work hard towards them.
