A loan of $400 helped to increase her stock of merchandise.

Justine's story

Justine is a 52-year-old mother from Cameroon. She is divorced and has five children aged between 18 and 30, one of whom goes to school. She also has three nephews under her care, who also go to school.

Justine has worked for 20 years selling fresh food items in a local market. She mainly sells tubers, cassava and vegetables, and gets her supplies from the country twice a week. With her loan, she plans to buy large quantities of vegetables and tubers to meet the needs of her ever-growing customer base. She will use part of the profits generated from this increase to reinvest in her business, and the other part to provide for her family.
