Ketevan's story

Ketevan is 61 years old. She lives in a small village in the Dusheti District with her husband, Akaki. Ketevan and Akaki run an agricultural business. They have a milking cow and produce cheese. They also have hens. Ketevan sells eggs and the produced cheese in Tbilisi (capital of Georgia) to her permanent client. In addition to the agricultural activities, Ketevan works in the school canteen and sells her own goods, like cakes and pies. Thus, her family gets additional income. The total average monthly income of the family 700 Lari.

Ketevan requested a loan for purchasing piglets. She will grow piglets and sell them in winter when prices are higher. It will increase the income of the family. With the increased profit, she will be able to reinvest in the family agricultural business to expand it and make it more profitable. Taking into account the above mentioned, the living conditions of the family will improve.
