Nhes' Group's story

A villager from the Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Nhes is aged 50 years old and married. He has three children, two of whom are dependent on the family and still in school. To support the family, Nhes and his wife earn a living as rice farmers in the village and they have been involved in this business for almost thirty years. To better support his family, he also is a local TV and cassette player mechanic.

Nhes’s group consists of two members who live in the same village and he is a second-loan client while his group member is with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for the first time. The first loan from VisionFund has helped Nhes's family better support their daily lives and children’s studies. With his current business, he is able to earn around 18,000 KHR per day. Now requesting a loan with VisionFund, Nhes, who is the leader, will use his portion to buy fertilizers for his farmland. He hopes to make more rice and earn more income to make a better living.
