Marleny is 38 years old and lives with her husband and her son in their own house in the north of Peru. They have basic water and electricity services. She has developed a small general store in her home, which she runs in the morning. Her mother runs it in the afternoon. In addition, she dedicates part of her time to raising and selling pigs.
Furthermore, she has found a part-time job working as a secretary, which allows her to have a constant, if small, income for her family. Her husband's main activity is fishing, and together they constitute a very hard-working family. She is now planning on taking a loan of 1,000 soles, which would be invested in the purchase of goods for her store in order to offer more products and strengthen her business.
