A loan of $900 helped to buy pigs to breed as her business is selling pork.

Zoila Maria's story

Zoila is a 47-year-old woman who describes herself as calm, cheerful and very hard working. She lives with her children in Atuntaqui, 15 minutes from Ibarra, in Imbabura province.

Zoila works alone selling regional food. She sells 'mote' (cooked, peeled corn kernels), 'arveja cocinada' (cooked peas) and roast pork. She requested a loan from Fodemi to invest in buying grains such as 'mote' and peas. She will also buy pigs to breed as this will help her to produce a larger quantity of pork and she will be able to increase her sales and income. This will enable her to improve her quality of life.

Zoila dreams of her children finishing their education and becoming professionals.
