A loan of $600 helped to buy yarn, fabrics, fasteners, and other materials for sewing.

Nancy Liliana's story

The members of the community bank Plazoleta Eloy Alfaro meet every two weeks in the town of 30 de Septiembre in the canton of Rocafuerte. This place is known for the delicious candy that the locals make and that is recognized throughout the country.
Nancy lives here. She is 45 years old and has a common law husband with whom she has 4 children. 3 of them are grown up and the 12 year old is in school. Three of them still live with her. Her husband is a public employee.
In order to earn something herself, our friend does accounting work and has the title Accountant and various people ask her to do accounting work. But, in addition to this, she makes clothes. She tells us that many people go to her house where she has a sewing workshop and she makes all sorts garments there, although mostly women's clothes. She has been doing this work for more than 10 years and, thanks be to God, it has brought her a good income.
This loan will be used to buy yarn, fabric, fastenings, and various materials necessary for making clothes. She has been with the community bank since it started and she likes the help that is offered.
Her goal is to have a bigger workshop.
