A loan of $750 helped to purchase coffee plants.

Yovver's story

Yovver is 30 years old and lives with the mother of his three children, who are nine, seven, and five, in the native community of Huacamayo.

He has been working in agriculture for over ten years and, thanks to all the knowledge he learned from his parents, he can now take care of his young family by working the land with effort. He grows achiote and coffee on his three plots of land. These products are the most profitable, due to their good price, but they require a lot of care and high investments. He obtains about 35 sacks of coffee beans from his land, each containing 60 kilos, and he sells them in the city located 30 minutes away from his town. Yovver knows that agriculture is what he knows best, which is why he will continue with his work for a long time.

This is the 7th loan he receives from MFP, so he gives his word that he will pay his monthly installments timely. He belongs to the communal bank Huacamayo, which is a group of responsible and supportive members.

The money from this loan will allow him to purchase more coffee plants. Each one costs 50 cents, and he will need about 4,000 small plants to successfully start his crop.
