Our member, Silvia, belongs to the Clorinda Matto de Turner community bank in Calca, a district in the Peruvian "departamento" of Cusco. She was born in the city of Cusco. Silvia, 40, has 2 children, one of whom lives away and one with her. She operates a business making and selling fruit juices. She operates the business in the market at Calca. Silvia is applying for a loan that she will use to buy fruit--bananas, papayas, oranges, mangoes, etc.--and other supplies--cups, for example--so that she can continue operating her business.
