A loan of $1,000 helped to buy seeds and supplies for her farming business.

Maria Eugenia's story

Maria, 42, is a hard-working person, responsible and, above all, enterprising. She lives with her husband and their children in Urcuqui, about an half-hour from Ibarra.

María is a farmer. She and her children work her land, growing maize, beans and peas. She's now harvesting the last of what's left from her last crop. Maria is applying for a Fodemi loan that she will use to buy seeds--maize, beans, peas--and other supplies--fertilizer, fungicides, insecticides--for her next planting.

Maria hopes for good health and professional careers for her children.
