A loan of $850 helped a member to pay for labor for land preparation.

Mun's Group's story

Originally from a village of the Tbaung Khmum district of Kampong Cham province, Mun is aged 36 years old and married with no children yet. She and her husband reside in the village earning a living through planting cassava as the main source of the family's income and sometimes they work for others for pay. She has been in this business for several years and she still encounters a lack of working capital to support her business.

Mun successfully paid back her first loan with VisonFund, which has helped her better support her family. With her current business, she is able to earn 5,500 KHR per day. To deal with her challenges, she is applying for her second loan with Kiva's partner, VisionFund, with her group members who have just been with VisionFund for this loan cycle and one year, respectively. As the leader, she wants to use her portion for labor for land preparation. She hopes to make more income so as to set aside some money for her future needs.
