Binta's story

This is thirty-five-year-old Binta. She is married, and has four children aged two, four, seven and twelve. In 1997, Binta established her provisions and cooking condiments business. The business started out of the need to assist her husband who is a miner in running the home. Working seven days a week and 12 hours a day, she earns about 1,100,000 SLL every month from this business.

She would like a loan to the amount of 4,000,000 SLL. Binta requires a loan in order to improve on the sale of cooking condiment and provision. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately 303,800 SLL. In the future, Binta plans to support her children through their university education.
