Olga María's story

Olga is a member of the communal bank Atenas del Ecuador. She lives in the area of Orquídeas in the city of Cuena. This city is surrounded by four rivers which give it the name Santa Ana de los Cuatro Rios. It's been a World Heritage Site since 1999 due to its beautiful architecture and its people's culture.

Olga is 51 years old, married, and from her marital union has conceived six children who are all of legal age. One of her daughters is married and lives independently. Her other four children work and help financially, and two of them study in college. Her youngest son studies at a high school in the city. Her husband is a driver and works offering his services by means of a taxi which is his property.

Mrs. Olga has a small grocery store where she sells various products like: oil, vinegar, dry grains, cod, etc. She also sells stationary products. She's had this business for four years and works from Sunday to Sunday without a set schedule.

She's been a member of the communal bank for twelve years and will invest her new loan in the purchase of construction materials in order to continue constructing her home.

Her goal is to complete her home, get her children ahead, and to not have any debt, the last being her greatest dream.
