A loan of $925 helped to purchase a mini tractor.

Inga's story

Inga is 44 years old. She lives in a small village in Lanchkhuti District with her family: her husband Merab and her parents-in-law, who are pensioners. Inga and Merab run an agricultural business. They have a dairy farm with three milking cows and three calves, and they produce cheese. Part of the produced cheese is used by the family and the other part is sold on the local open market. She sells, on average, 60 kg of cheese per month. Also, the family owns 1.5 hectare of land where they grow maize and tomatoes, and they have beehives with bee colonies. They harvest ecologically clean honey twice a year and sell it in nearby villages. The total average monthly income of the family is 600 Georgia Laris (GEL). Inga requested a loan for purchasing a mini tractor. Merab will use it for tilling their land. Using their own tractor instead of a rented one will decrease costs of farming and increase their profit. Also, Merab will cultivate plots of neighbor farmers. He will be paid for providing this service, so the family will get additional income. With the increased amount of income, they will be able to repair the roof of the house and provide better living conditions for the family members.
