A loan of $550 helped a member to buy fertilizers for farmland.

Morn's Group's story

Living in a rural area of the Thmor Koul distict of Cambodia, Morn is 69 years old and married with nine children, two of whom are dependent on her. Only one of her dependent children is still in school.

She has been involved in rice farming on four hectares for just one year. She can earn around KHR 13,000 per day from her current business. A lack of working capital remains her challenge to support her business.

Morn has been with VisionFund for two cycles and successfully paid back the loans, while the others of her group have been with VisionFund for one to two cycles. The past loans have helped Morn afford to buy household necessities for her family.

To solve her challenge, she is now leading her group of three female members to apply for a loan with VisionFund. As the group leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for the farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow her rice healthfully and sell it for a good price so as to improve her living conditions.
