A loan of $750 helped to pay for the rental of agricultural land and for tractor service.

Juan's story

Juan is 68. He has been a widower for 2 years, and he now lives in the company of his daughter María and his grandchildren.

Starting from the earliest hours of the day, he begins by milking the 4 cows he owns. Each day he obtains an average of 10 liters, which are delivered to a dairy company. But he is also a farmer, growing corn, potatoes, barley, beans and olluco (a root vegetable) on some rented plots of land. After each harvest, he sells his crops in the main city of his region, where he travels every time he can. Now he wants to save up all that he needs to buy his own lands, since he would like to keep planting: "it's my passion," he says.

He belongs to the “Rundo al progreso” communal bank, and this is loan number 7 for him with MFP. He is grateful for the financial support he has received during all this time. Accordingly, he is committed to being punctual with his loan payments.

Juan will invest the funds from this loan in paying for the rental of his agricultural lands, in addition to paying for the tractor which will turn over the soil for his next planting.
