A loan of $1,325 helped a member to buy natural medicines.

Intocables Group's story

The Communal Bank "Intocables" is starting its first loan cycle as part of the Santiago II Community Center. This group consists of six members and Sra. Josefa serves as the treasurer. The members have developed business activities that include selling food, selling clothes, serving coffee, and other ventures.

Sra. Josefa joined a Communal Bank with Pro Mujer one year ago after receiving an invitation from one of her other group members. She currently has a business of selling natural medicines. Josefa learned this trade from her parents and has been working for several years. The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying natural medicines, which will be purchased from the people who make them and then sold from her established vending post. Working in this manner helps to move her family forward. Josefa is single and has two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Josefa said she enjoys the health clinic.
