A loan of $1,100 helped to buy pants, blouses, t-shirts and children’s clothing.

Jorge Luís's story

In the city of Portoviejo, known as the City of the Royal Tamarind Trees since the colonial period, the members of the Banco Comunal Mi Mundo Natural “My Natural World Community Bank" meet every 15 days. Here we find Jorge who is 26-years-old and living in a common-law marriage with no children. His wife works as a cashier in a discotheque in the city of Manta. Our friend works at night with his wife in the discotheque in the city of Manta and in the afternoons he also makes a living in commerce selling clothing of all kinds. He sells door-to-door and also from his house where his wife helps him while he goes out all around the city. He tells us that he been doing this commercial activity for more than four years and it’s going very well for them. He is going to bring the same kind of merchandise from Guayaquil since there he can get a cheaper and greater variety of products.

He is going to use this loan to buy more merchandise such as: pants, blouses, t-shirts and childrens clothing. He has been with the communal bank for more than two years and he likes it because of the assistance and ease with which he can obtain loans. His dream is to have a more stable business with its own location.
