A loan of $800 helped to buy fertilizers and supplies to boost her crops.

Ma. Guillermina's story

Ma. Guillermina is 73 years of age, and is a single mother. She has three children and lives with her daughter-in-law and grandson in a rural village in the department of Yoro, Yoro. She works in agriculture, specifically growing basic grains – beans and corn. She started working in this job from a very young age, and has a plot of land which she inherited from her parents. She has cultivated this land with lots of work, determination and dedication. She currently grows corn and beans for personal consumption and for sale, and invests her profits in expanding her production areas. Ma. Guillermina has requested a loan of 15,000 Honduran Lempiras to buy fertilizer and supplies to boost her crops. She is motivated to move forward with her business, as she considers that it generates good profits if she manages the loan well. In the future she plans to use her profits to buy more land which she will pass on to her children, as well as to produce more.
