Rita's story

Rita sells and cooks Ga kenkey (fermented maize or cassava dough), which she serves with fried fish, pepper, and tomato sauce at Kajebil near Takoradi. Rita has done this for 21 years. She is married and has three children. She uses her income to assist her husband in paying their utility bills. Her loan will be used to purchase fish and bags of maize, which she uses in preparing her Ga kenkey. She hopes to use the new profits to expand her business.
