Senegal / Restaurant

A loan of $400 helped to buy fruits for resale and seasoning to prepare breakfasts for sale.

Aminata's story

This borrower is called Aminata. She is married and a mother of three children aged five, seven and ten. She is 46 years of age, and works selling vegetables. She also sells breakfasts.

Aminata has over ten years’ experience in this business. She starts her day at 7:30 am, and finishes at 8:30 pm. After selling breakfasts in the morning, she sets up her table where she sells fruit – mangos, watermelons, apples and bananas.

This is her fourth loan, which will be used to increase her stock, as well as to buy the seasonings she needs to cook the products she sells and to buy fruits. Aminata is responsible for her children’s needs, and pays her part towards the daily household expenses. In the future she plans to open a large restaurant with the support of financial institutions like IMCEC.
