The MINANGUEZE group consists of four members who live in the same neighborhood. The group's representative (raising her hand in the photo) is named Évelyne. She is 44 years old and married to a man named Médard.

Évelyne and Médard have four children who are all in school and all their dependents. Évelyne lives with her husband and children. The couple jointly takes care of the various household expenses.

Évelyne has been selling food products (maize, yams, porridge and fritters) from her home, for close to ten years. She buys her goods at a market in Benin.

It is the second time that Évelyne and the other members of the MINANGUEZE group are requesting financial assistance from ALIDé in order to strengthen their working capital and their activity, and to better meet their customers' demand.

Their previous loan has been duly repaid.

MINANGUEZE est un groupe de quatre personnes, dont les membres résident dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, Évelyne (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 44 ans et est mariée à un certain Médard. Le couple a quatre enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Éveline vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. Le couple assure ensemble les différentes charges de la maison. Depuis près de dix ans, Évelyne vend divers produits vivriers (maïs, ignames, bouillie, et beignets) à son domicile. Éveline s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. C’est la deuxième fois que Évelyne et les autres membres du groupe MINANGUEZE sollicitent l’appui financier de ALIDé en vue de renforcer leur fonds de roulement et leur activité afin de mieux répondre aux exigences de leur clientèle. Le premier crédit reçu a été bien remboursé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
